February Rider of the Month Sandoval Racing

02/02/2012 by Pockets

February’s rider of the month is Sandoval Racing. Sandoval Racing consists of two brothers and their father. Sandoval Brothers Racing was started by their father Steven, who had a passion for motorcycles and the desire to win. From his first ride with his father on his Harley, Steven was hooked on motorcycles. Just like most people, Steven’s first year competing on a bike was difficult to say the least. Even though his first race on his 100cc Honda was challenging, Steven knew this was the route he wanted to pursue. In only his second season of racing, Steven was able to claim the AMA district 17 86-160cc class championship, the State of Illinois half mile TT championship and a short track championship.

Steven’s next obstacle was moving up to the 250cc class. Steven handled the transition to the 250 class relatively easy and finished top three in the class. After finishing out the 250 class on a high note, Steven entered the 450cc and open amateur classes. The 2011 race season favored Steven, as he claimed the AMA district 17 championships in the 450cc class, as well as the open amateur class.

Thirteen year old Ryan is the oldest brother out of the Sandoval Racing camp. Ryan is currently competing in the AMA flat track series. Ryan has many wins under his belt and the 2010 racing season saw Ryan claim the 7-11 year old 75-125cc class championship. The 2012 racing season will see Ryan entering the AMA district 17 250cc class. Ryan is ready for the 2012 season and looking for another championship.

Rounding out Sandoval Brothers Racing is their youngest member Alex. Alex competes in district 17 and is fortunate enough to be mentored by Garry Hardy. Alex completed his first year of competition in 2011 and claimed the district 17 75-125cc championship. The 2012 season brings high hopes for Alex, as he looks to grab back to back championships.

All of Sandoval Racing would like to thank their sponsors Hot Rods, Pivot Works, Hot Cams, Cylinder Works and Vertex Pistons. They have helped us so much throughout the years and we appreciate everything they have done for us, Thanks guys!
